In May this year I photographed the lovely Katie and Tim for their engagement shoot. How time flies, before we knew it their wedding day on the 17th August had arrived.
Set in the beautiful grounds of Swancar Farm, a venue I had heard lots about but had never been to. This idyllic country house set in amongst the rolling Nottinghamshire countryside didn’t disappoint! With people coming and going, Katie enjoyed the hustle and bustle upstairs in the bridal suite as she got herself ready. Contributing to this lovely energy were Katie’s flower girls munching on their picnic before stepping into their gorgeous dresses; miniature versions of the bridesmaids. Tim arrived up the long winding road leading to the venue with his Dad in their family’s 1960’s Daimler; very sophisticated! The time soon approached for the couple to declare their personal and handwritten vows to each other in the upper gallery ceremony room. Katie appeared at the top of the stairs looking amazing in her figure hugging, delicately embellished fishtail dress.
The ceremony was so full of love and the use of their own vows added to the emotion and the tears. They left the building as husband and wife and the sun shone brightly as the white confetti swirled dramatically in a strong breeze. A perfect picture of happiness.
The fields surrounding the venue provided a picturesque backdrop to spend some time with the newlyweds and their bridal party. Everyone looked a million dollars. Everyone then joined the rest of the guests mingling in the courtyard. A delicious dinner was served, entertaining speeches delivered and then we sneaked Katie and Tim off for a quick drive in the Daimler just as the sun was setting.
These portraits of a couple clearly in love turned out to be romantic, stylish and dusky. A beautiful couple who deserved a fantastic day! Thank you for inviting us along for the ride! Congratulations Dr and Mrs Guyott, wishing you a lifetime of happiness together!! xx
