Congratulations to Janine and Ian, who waited 15 years for a perfect day of celebrations. They own Shelt Hill farm and fishery in Nottinghamshire and it made perfect sense for them to have a big party using this location. The whole site had a festival vibe with a central massive tipi surrounded by lots of mini versions for guests to stay the night in. Whilst Janine got ready at their home a few miles away, Ian spent the morning of the wedding on site in their caravan with his best man. A double decker bus was organised to transfer guests from the farm to the fascinating Papplewick Pumping station and the marriage ceremony. What the ceremony space lacked in size was made up for ten times over in terms of environment, atmosphere and industrial heritage. Janine and the cutest posse of kids, consisting of her 4 flower girls and a page boy arrived with umbrellas, dashing in, out of the showery weather. The ceremony itself, watched by close family, was beautiful with some laughs chucked in there too; just the way they wanted it. Following the service, the new Mr & Mrs Gleave mingled with their guests outside the pumping station dodging the rain showers by taking cover under a marquee. As their guests got back on the bus to head on to a local pub for a curry, Janine and Ian joined us back inside the Pumping Station for some atmospheric couple portraits. Some top-notch curries, poppadums, beers and speeches were enjoyed before heading back to the farm for one big tipi party! More guests arrived and the festival feel really kicked in with pizzas and fast food from the food vans being served, guests playing mini-golf or chilling around the fire and when the brilliant sounds of The Warning Tones band started the dancing kicked in.
You both knocked this out the park, by doing it exactly how you wanted to! Apart from the legal bit there’s no rules, you stuck to what you love and surrounded yourselves with the people you care for. With tons of originality and a genuine love for each other and life, it was an absolute pleasure to be part of your day. Well done Mr & Mrs Gleave. XX.
