Who would have thought that when booking their wedding day for February 2019 that they would be blessed with a sunny spring day. The lucky couple, Sadie and Rob chose the most romantic day of the year Valentines Day, to show their love of each other in front of their nearest and dearest at the Old Vicarage Boutique Hotel, Southwell, Nottinghamshire. My day started at the couple’s beautiful home in Leicestershire which Rob had built from scratch. With her mum, flower girls, sister, friend and the very talented hair stylist, Alison Jenner on hand; Sadie as a natural beauty turned into a stunning bride. She left home in her ivory dressing gown and matching welly boots and could’ve easily walked down the aisle like that. However, her Essense of Australia lace layered wedding dress was waiting for her at the hotel. My first time at this venue tucked away in the quiet village of Southwell. I instantly loved the classy chic vibe and it was great that later on in the day I sneaked the newly weds away for a few pictures to use the backdrop of the village.
Rob arrived in a grey suit and tweed waistcoat, showing a glimpse of the farmer in him. During a personal ceremony Rob’s daughter Molly, gave a perfect reading of “What it means to be married . . .” Rob was beaming from ear to ear and with his gorgeous bride on his arm looked like the cat that had got the cream! Mingling, an abundance of confetti, group pictures and canapés took place in the gardens before heading in for a top nosh dinner. I loved so many things about this day; the wild carefree feel of the flowers created by the Mother of the Bride and a friend, the lace and tulle flowergirl outfits and the gorgeous little ladies wearing them. The subtle presence of Sadie’s late father including a delicate brooch on her bouquet, the joy and friendliness of all of their guests and the tree that Rob bought for Sadie as a gift that they will plant together to watch it grow. Beautiful.
So honoured for you to have shared this gorgeous day with me and I’m now super excited to be sharing it all back with you. You were both amazing to work with and I wish you every bit of happiness together Mr & Mrs Wells!! xx
