The Old Parish Rooms in Rayleigh and The Red Brick Barn in Rochford Wedding | Kat & James

In case you’ve not noticed we’re now into December! Nearly the end of another wedding season and what a fabulous year it has been for us; working with some of the nicest couples and families.

Kat & James were our last wedding of 2018  . . . bringing our season to a close with a bang! It was our first time shooting at The Old Parish rooms and Red Brick Barn in Essex and we loved it. The choice of venues perfectly complimented the relaxed, unique energy that Kat and James create. Things for Kat started at her family home whilst James was with his family and best lady getting ready at one of their favourite locations, Southend on Sea. Yes you’re right . . . this was very 2018 with a Best Lady holding the rings. They took a lovely stroll along the sea front with Southend Pier making an impressive backdrop. Bride and Groom made their way to the Old Parish Rooms for the ceremony and on this lovely day the venue was bathed in celestial light. It was a gorgeously fresh space where friends and family watched the couple ease themselves into married life through a lovely ceremony made all the more personal with Grandad making an emotional reading. This knockout Bride looked absolute dynamite in her bespoke tailor made lace dress, fitted lace cape and purple 1960s style purple beehive! Kat’s perfect styling saw her standing next to her Groom looking mighty fine in a tweed jacket and waistcoat. Confetti, a few groups, hugs of congratulations and then guests onto a red London bus and bride and groom in a London black cab being transported to Red Brick Barn for the reception.  The rustic exterior was a total contrast to the romantic deep red interior, lit with twinkly lights and shortly after arrival, Kat & James explored the quirky farmland grounds with us just as the sun was dropping. We genuinely loved the relaxed approach; fish and chip supper, the welcome speech by the Bride, the tears from the Best Lady. It was clear that Kat and James were having the time of their lives. Any couple with rainwater pouring in through the marquee who catch the rain by using a champagne bucket are well chilled in our books! The atmosphere in the barn was really building as Kat and James took to the first dance. Sometimes after the energy of this part of the evening there can be a lull on the dance floor. Well . . . cue a daughter and father of the Bride fully choreographed dance performance to a medley of perfect tunes. We’ve never seen anything like it and it was brilliant. Simply the best! It was a truly jam packed, fun filled day . . .  one we’ll remember for a very long time.

We hope the photos convey what an awesome day it was! You are a total legend of a couple. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Wishing you all the love in the world. Xx
