Friday 7th September saw us return to the beautiful Dodmoor House in Northamptonshire for the wedding of Amy and Alex. Always good to return to a venue where you’ve not photographed there for a number of years. Venues change and as photographers, we develop and change too. Unique to this wedding was Amy’s previous employment as a wedding planner at Shearsby Bath and this was where we first met. It is always an honour to be chosen to photograph someone with experience of the wedding industry.
The day started for Amy at her parent’s home where hair and make up was attended to by the talented Donovan Hair and MUA Kirsty Schneider. It was a hustle and bustle environment with lots of girlfriends having a great time; super atmosphere to start the day! After these preliminary preparations, the bridal party up geared and shifted to Dodmoor House for the final phases of preparation involving champagne and getting dressed. Amy slipped in to the most elegant laced dress by Maggie Sottero from Bradgate Brides. It was at this stage that Amy’s nerves started to kick in; excited, emotional and quietly beautiful. A quick meditation session to calm everyone down ended in tears of laughter and helped diffuse the building tension. Marco met the boys as they gathered at the De Vere Hotel to begin their day with a beer and a few laughs. Alex continually bobbing in out of conversation as a sizeable crowd grew. After a couple of drinks the Groom’s party were ready to head for Dodmoor House.
The ceremony started with the beautiful entrance of bridesmaids dressed in Chateau Rose gowns by Wtoo from Divine Boutique. The Bride supported by her very proud Dad walked across the courtyard to the ceremony room, the emotion was tangible, so much so that it bought tears to a very together groom. The day ran seamlessly and was perfect in every way. The guests congratulated the newly weds with confetti as they headed back up the aisle as husband and wife. This procession spilled out into the courtyard for drinks and canapés to the background music of the super talented duo “Mango Acoustics”.
A few fun group pictures, tons of happy mingling with guests were all followed by some splendid speeches in the cosy Cadesby Barn before dinner was served. The barn looked particularly gorgeous with a grand gold leafed cake by Melody Cakes , table decor by Eve Lily and flowers by The Garden Rose. Amy & Alex very kindly gave us a bit of their precious time after dinner along with their fabulous team of Bridesmaids and Grooms party all looking spot on.The grade II listed buildings that date back over 400 years made a perfect backdrop for some stylish portraits of the happy couple at dusk. Everyone gathered back in the Cadesby Barn to party and with music and DJing being a massive passion in Alex’s life, the soundtrack was superb. The first dance started the fun and it wasn’t long before their guests piled on to the dance floor to join them!
Thank you, Amy & Alex, for a stunning day filled with just the right mix of emotion, fun and beauty. You are yet another gorgeous couple making our job so rewarding and enjoyable! Wishing you all the happiness in the world. xx
