Annie and Mitch’s wedding took place at the impressive Staunton Harold in Derbyshire. Annie got ready at her Mum and Dad’s a short drive away while Mitch, family and friends had stayed over at the lodge set in the premises. So Easter weddings are planned in the hope of an early Spring burst . . . on the day we were all simply grateful that the rain that had been so persistent in the lead up had eased off to leave a dry if chilly day.
Annie’s house had a relaxed feel that stemmed from the Bride herself. Getting ready went very smoothly resulting in Annie looking dynamite in a gorgeous lace and embroidered dress, the most gorgeous blue shoes all finished off by her Mum’s veil, a lovely touch. Thanks also to the father of the bride for putting a screw in the door frame so we could hang his daughter’s dress up exactly where we wanted it! Mitch’s preparations were a bit busier with a lot of family and friends around. He was pretty cool throughout the getting ready stage and we had plenty of time after we left the lodge to make the most of the beautiful Staunton Harold.
At the venue it was clear an Easter theme had been seamlessly woven in. The attention to detail throughout the day was spot on. The groom’s party distributed love heart eggs around the grounds for the egg hunt and daffodils were a plenty; double meaning here as Mitch and crew originate from Wales. The day went really smoothly, Annie arrived in a sporty red Mercedes, Mitch got emotional on first seeing his beautiful bride and guests (too many to mention) provided a fab background throughout the day with readings, singing, music and lots of love of good fun. The speeches were hilarious and perfectly dangerous! The partying, including a short live set by Mitch, was pretty full on.
