The Old Stables in Swithland Wedding / Laura & Jamie

The Old Stables is part of the beautiful, boutique pub The Griffin in the village of Swithland in Leicestershire and is perfect for a cosy winter wedding. Laura & Jamie thought so too as they held their February wedding there. A wedding which took place on a very chilly, windy and slightly wet Saturday.

Four bridesmaids in stunning blue dresses were at hand to help Laura get ready with hair and make up provided by Katie at Hair by Attwood and Abbi at Beyond Basic . Laura’s mum helped her to slip into a gorgeous Ella Rosa lace dress from Wedding Belles accessorised with a delicate jewelled belt. The final essential item of the day along with a hot water bottle were fur shrugs for the bridal party, invaluable in the cold! So on to the ceremony at All Saints Church in Narborough, we respected the vicars wishes and only photographed the service from the back but still managed to capture the essence of the service. Luckily we had the blessing to photograph Laura being walked half way down the aisle with her Dad followed by a handover to mum who linked arms and walked her the rest of the way to her awaiting husband to be. A very intensely emotional part of the day. Music is a big part of Laura and Jamie’s life so it goes without saying that the music during the service involved a full big band conducted by Laura’s mums partner.

Everyone then made their way to The Old Stables and guests headed inside for drinks and to shelter from the weather. We waited for Laura and Jamie to arrive in their gorgeous 1935 Ford V8 and were thankful that they braved the cold so we could get some portraits. Ever the chivalrous photographer, Marco gave his jacket to a shivering Laura who now perfectly modelled a blue alpine raincoat along with her stunning dress. This was followed by a confetti tunnel, some group pics, a walk along the road and then back inside to warm up in the comfort of The Old Stables. The low timber ceilinged room was lit up by a blanket of twinkling lights and Laura &  Jamie’s wedding guests mingled whilst feasting on the most gorgeous canapés. Unfortunately for Laura the canapés were so delicious one of hers ended up on her beautiful dress; however, in true laid back style she laughed it off and just got on with enjoying her day. It wasn’t long until dinner, speeches, and cake cutting. The dancing began with The Dirty Carpet band absolutely rocking it. I finished off this beautiful day with one of the biggest sparkler aisles I think I have witnessed – Sparkler madness!

A gorgeous day with a gorgeous couple, Laura and Jamie you were an absolute pleasure to spend the day with. With the weather being slightly against you and US, you were just brilliant. We wish you every bit of happiness in the future. xx
