I already knew Chris as a fellow wedding photographer and it was a great pleasure, huge honour and a little bit of extra pressure to be the person who was going to document his and his beautiful wife-to-be Kimmy’s special day.
Their wedding on a wet Thursday in September was held at the spectacular West Mill in Derby. It had been a year since I last photographed there and it was so good to be back. A very “on trend” venue with amazing interior proved to be the perfect backdrop for this rainy day. Chris, Kimmy and their guests were so well suited to this stylish urban environment feel .
I watched on as Kimmy, her daughter and her lovely gang of bridesmaids all got ready in the upstairs Bridal Room, amidst lots of laughter and a relaxed atmosphere. Kimmy only had a short walk literally through a door into the ceremony room and boy did she look stunning as she entered. Chris with his Best Man by his side looked every bit the other half of this cool couple. A chilled ceremony followed where the togetherness of both was clearly evident; their love for each other punctuated the whole day.
My first ever indoor confetti shot involved the most colourful confetti being enthusiastically thrown over the newlyweds. Eventually the rain stopped allowing us to venture outdoors and it was great to have the contrast of these exterior shots.
Great chemistry set the atmosphere for your day, your guests and family were all a joy to be around, I had a fantastic time. Thank you for involving me in your day and for treating me as part guest, part photographer! Wishing you a lifetime of happiness xx
