Harriett and Matt tied the knot in Stanton by Dale in July. Incidentally, this was our second wedding shoot in this picturesque and charming Derbyshire village.

A very calm Harriett started her day by getting ready in her home just a few yards up the road from the church. All the family were there to oversee her transformation into a beautiful English Rose bride; lovely to see Mum doing such a great job of the make up.

Matt and his brothers were half an hour away prepping themselves at the impressive Breadsall Priory; a really stunning location to get in some pre wedding shots of the groom. The next stop for the groom and his family was the local pub in Stanton in the Dale that just happened to be across the road from Harriett and Matt’s house! It was exciting to see the groom’s party and family all mingling and having a quick pint through the blinds of the upstairs bedroom window of their home.

Harriett’s dad arrived and upon seeing his daughter as a bride got very emotional. Magical. Dad, Harriett and the Bridal Party then took a gentle stroll through the village to the church. A powerful highly personalised ceremony followed and it was clear that the couple had got to know the parish and vicar well since moving to the area. After the service, Matt’s uncle drove the newlyweds through the village in his Land Rover, past their home and onto the reception. This was the only part of the day where we had rain and if it’s going to rain on your wedding , then surely when you’re sat in a car has to be the best time. Taking a slight detour, we stopped off on a country lane that took us through the fields to where the couple walk their dogs. It was from this bridal path that they discovered the reception venue. It was a no brainier to take some portraits of the two of them in this gorgeous setting.

Locko Park provided a classic backdrop to the setting of the Tipi based reception and the lake and country house finished off the panorama beautifully. Setting, styling, demure of the bride and composure of the Groom all combined to provide a quintessential Englishness to the day.

Beautiful Flowers Girls and a lively Paige Boy added lots of warmth and fun to the day whilst guests leisurely sat around drinking Champagne and being attentively catered to by the fine food of Thomas the caterers. It was unusual to see a Bride bring her work to her wedding but on this occasion it was great to see one of Harriett’s dogs for the blind in attendance and what a lot of lovely attention they got!

I left you all enjoying the evening with wood fired pizza and live Jazz sounds by the band. Well done you two for one brilliant party and a great celebration of your marriage. So composed and relaxed. We wish you a very happy future together. Xx
