Meenie & Matt – married

We travelled up to the Wirral to attend Meenie and Mat’s wedding set in the beautiful grounds of Thornton Manor. It was great to see we’d brought the good weather to the north west with us. I’ve been looking forward to capturing this wedding since I carried out their engagement shoot in the Peak District on one of the windiest days in March! They had decided for their pre wedding shoot to include their precious little girl Layla and their wedding day was to be no different. The importance of a loving family really shone through.

The wedding day styling was based around golds and reds fully utilising the grandeur of the Manor. Meenie who got ready in the spacious and buzzing Bridal suite had two outfits for her day. The one she was to marry in was a beautiful gold sari and it was amazing to watch her being skilfully wrapped into it by her mum. Looking absolutely stunning she headed downstairs with her Mum and Dad to walk through the courtyard, down the red carpet and into the ceremony room with Mat standing patiently waiting. Mat, who looked sharp in a navy suit finished off with a stylish bow tie, his best man by his side, had had a chilled and social able morning. He was the personification of calm and preparedness although waiting for his bride to appear tested all that cool! The service was lovely and following the tying of the knot a live beautiful string quartet played Mr and Mrs Williams back up the aisle. In true Asian style the newlyweds were showered with grains of rice (instead of confetti) by their guests. On occasion, we could see Bride and Groom wince . . . . this looked like it hurt! Although I was simply photographing it, I even woke up the next day with grains of rice on my pillow. Everybody enjoyed sipping champagne and chatting in the grounds before heading into the stunning dining room for a curry meal. The rest of the day continued in style. It was great to get the bridal party back out later on and it was a chance to photograph Meenie in her beautiful lace tea evening dress. Although battling against the swiftly decreasing light, we managed to capture the group of them in a very relaxed spirit!

We loved photographing and being part of your day, the styling of the bridal party, Meenie your outfit change, the wooden flowers, the quirky cake topper of the three of you, the Roald Dahl “The Twits” reading, the very amusing speeches . . . . We have to say it was one good day and party! Everybody, and most importantly you two, looked like they were having a fab time! Congratulations Mat & Meenie xx
