Katie & Adam – married

Easter Saturday, Katie and Adam became husband and wife in a beautiful church ceremony.  The morning and service was all set around the brides family village of Halam. The morning was spent calmly getting ready with her four bridesmaids and their gorgeously cute dog Poppy (she makes a few appearances!). Marco, my husband and second shooter was having a similar experience with Adam and his grooms party, all relaxed too, except in the different surroundings of the local pub. Katie wearing a lace fish tale dress looked beautiful; and made a perfect bride as she walked down the aisle shedding a tear or two.  Closely behind her were her bridesmaids dressed in purple lace and Poppy, rocking a purple lead and corsage. To have your pet at your wedding service is very unique and really does show that Poppy is one of the family.

The weather, typical of March was a bit hit and miss but it was never going to ruin a good day. Aptly we were witnessing the beginning of Storm Katie! Winds were strong and skies grey, making the confetti shot very spontaneous with petals flying randomly in every direction! Katie and Adam’s carefree nature made this day a pleasure. On to Hotel Van Dyk for their reception, stopping off in their camper vans en route to take the opportunity to have some pictures. Due to the speedy departure of the VW Camper from the Church, these shots very nearly didn’t happen! With me and Marco separately scouring the local roads and lanes it was sheer luck that we stumbled on the Bride and Groom. Phew! Braving the strong winds on an open road was so worth it and Katie and Adam managed to have some time out whilst I captured the newly weds. They joined the rest of their guests for drinks, canapes and a mingle whilst their singer added to the atmosphere. I particularly loved the brides dance with her father and the added bonus of the groom and his mother watching on. You don’t get much better than moments like these.

Your guests and you guys looked like you were having a fantastic day! Congratulations and best wishes for a very happy future together as Mr and Mrs Bates. xx
