This sneak peak preview was a real struggle to edit down!

Our pre wedding talk through suggested that both Bride and Groom were going to be surrounded by their nearest and dearest who would provide a lively and full on environment. Ollie had already told us about a special bottle of 30-year-old Port purchased by his Uncle in the year he was born. More of a surprise, was Catherine’s family insistence that the Bride drinking a glass of whisky on the morning of her wedding was a tradition. Brilliant!

With the Groom, his Dad and the team ready they made the short walk through Market Harborough to The Swan, handily located right next to the Church. The Bride and her entourage were a little late getting to Church but everything was cool. Catherine looked a million dollars walking down the aisle to her awaiting husband. The anticipation in the church was immense. The service was perfectly delivered by a lovely priest who delivered a beautiful ceremony with a nice touch of humour. The service concluded with the newly weds lighting a candle together and Ollie punching the air. Result!

Arriving at Keythorpe slightly earlier than their guests gave the couple a chance for a bit of "them time”before their high spirited guests arrived on mass on two London buses. The one thing we particularly love at weddings is watching people and picking up on all of the different characters. After some mingling shots, we took a quick detour to visit the deer, it had to be done, with the newlyweds "Mr & Mrs Dear". Events then moved into the splendidly styled marquee. After the Wedding Breakfast there was speeches, tears, laughter, and a jaeger bomb machine. Late on into the evening just as the speeches were coming to an end, the sun was setting out to the front of the marquee and we took the opportunity to get a few group shots walking through the fields, the bridal party were in good spirits. I’m so pleased we did :). Caielgh music and a packed out dance floor continued in abundance.

You make an amazing couple with a great sense of energy. Thank you Mr & Mrs Dear for inviting us to share the epic story of your day. It was truly fab. You both looked fantastic and we wish you a happy forever after.  Xxx.

Swinfen Hall Hotel in Lichfield Wedding | Helen & Chris http://sarahsalotti.co.uk/blog/2018/6/swinfen-hall-hotel-in-lichfield-wedding-helen-chris

So a week before Helen & Chris's big day, the nation had watched on as a huge wedding in the shape of a "Royal one" had taken place. With the national wedding buzz still in the air, it was great to be in the beautiful grounds of Swinfen Hall, which provided a quintessential English background to the day. Add to this setting, Helen the perfect English rose and Chris her dark haired prince; their own royal affair!

Whilst Helen was getting ready at her family home, a 5 minute drive away, in the company of a crazy full-on household, we would have liked to say that Chris's preparations were a bit calmer. Not a bit of it! When the Groom locks himself out of his house on the morning of his wedding and then ends up in Waitrose, suited and booted for breakfast with his groom’s team, you know you are in for an interesting day!

Now Chris likes to dabble with photography and we knew how important the photographs of their day were. He couldn't help taking a few pictures of his own though and we can't blame him as the light on their day was just stunning. Two beautiful souls enjoying a truly sunny day from start to finish surrounded by some pretty special people. We loved the bubbles, Dots' bingo, the mother's pearls worn by the bride and her sister, the first dance tune from The Lion King and your "can do" attitude.

The whole wedding, guests and all beamed with a sparkly happiness. We were super chuffed to be part of it. Thanks Helen and Chris you were ace, we wish you a ton of happiness for your future together. xx

Keythorpe Manor in Leicestershire Wedding | Jessica & Matt http://sarahsalotti.co.uk/blog/2018/6/keythorpe-manor-in-leicestershire-wedding-jessica-matt

All weddings are a happy, special and memorable time for the happy couple. Jessica and Matt's day at Keythorpe Manor was all these things with extra specialness provided by their son Noah. It was his day too! During Jessica's personal vows we found out that the number 12 holds a special significance for the couple, needless to say, the 12th May was chosen to tie the knot.

The shoes from Ted Baker, and THE dress by RS Bridal collection were stunning and just added that extra wow to Jessica's beautiful glam look; all styled wonderfully by Rachel Linney with a flawless floral bouquet by Sophie's Flower Company. Jessica, her bridesmaids, flower girl, and Noah got ready in the calm and gorgeous setting of Jessica's dad's home in Rutland. Jessica had delivered hand written scroll letters (Inviting Writing) to the special men in her life, her husband to be and her dad.

Matt and his groom’s team readied themselves at the couples home in Melton Mowbray. With no fuss the boys polished up nicely, donning smart blue suits, waistcoats and matching socks. All the small details thought about! Having recorded this transformation, we were really grateful that the lads were happy to make a short drive round the corner to use the really interesting railway bridge and surrounding area as a backdrop.

Noah with flower girl on his arm walked down the aisle of The Old Barn at Keythorpe proudly showing off a sign declaring a special message to his Dad. He nearly stole the show when standing side by side with his mum and dad he asks“ Daddy . . .Where are you sitting?". The ceremony was personal, emotional and light hearted. Noah successfully delivered the rings and the ceremony was sealed with the three of them lighting a love candle. Magical.

Confetti, champagne, a bit of a mingle and games on the lawn. Jessica and Matt joined us for a bit of time out in the stunning surroundings of Keythorpe. Absolutely beautiful to work with, we ventured into private gardens and then on to see and feed the dear (thanks Krish at Keythorpe). How wonderfully happy Jessica and Matt looked together.

The day continued back at The Old Barn with delicious food being served by the fabulous Whites Fine Food and live music by Ant MacAndrew. During courses unbeknown to Jessica and Matt, the Best Singing Waiter delivered a series of songs and get up and dance party tricks. The room went mental, napkins waving in the air, air guitar and conga around the room; so much fun! With the atmosphere nicely set, the father of the bride delivered his speech standing on a chair with hilarious hand written signs to complement the spoken word. Whilst all this was going on inside the barn, the heavens had opened up outside. Heading back out for more portraits and group shots just got trickier! Undeterred with umbrellas at the ready, Jessica and Matt just got on with it. That ‘can do’ attitude always helps and we improvised using umbrellas, the marquee and some shelter provided by an arch. These shots under the arch with the light diminishing turned out to be some of our favourites, there is a sublime painterly quality to them.

Thank you to Mr and Mrs Wallace (and Noah) for making our day. We loved photographing and being part of it all, the styling of the bridal party, the lengths that you and your guests went to to help us, the singing waiter, the gorgeous food, the personal vows, the number 12, and the very amusing speeches . . . . We have to say it was one fab day! Everybody, and most importantly you two, looked like they were having a great time!

Lots of love to all three of you xxx

Bordesley Park in Redditch Wedding | Heena & Nimesh http://sarahsalotti.co.uk/blog/2018/5/bordesley-park-in-redditch-wedding-heena-nimesh Couldn’t be more appropriate for us to be sat in the blazing British sunshine writing this blog post. What a lovely run of warm weather we are having and the May Bank Holiday was no exception. On the Sunday of that beautiful weekend we headed over to capture the first part of Nimesh and Heena's wedding celebrations and their English civil ceremony at Bordesley Park, Redditch. This quaint wedding venue set amongst rolling countryside couldn't have been a more perfect setting for a summers day.

Everything always looks better in the sun but Heena and Nimesh would’ve looked fab regardless. Heena in a Donna Lee bridal dress with the most delicate lace piped around the neckline and Carvela pink shoes and Nimesh donning a personalised suit with bow tie and chain. It was clear that family are extremely important to both of them and this really shone through in the speeches. Nimesh's brother as best man and Heena's siblings started the speeches off  together in style!

The fact that Bride and Groom were willing and up for taking their shoes off to hit the trampoline for a shoot says a lot!. The spirit that these two lovely souls approached their day with, supplemented by everybody around them, was so gorgeous to see. We loved all the the attention to detail and personalised elements to their day, and we're not just talking paper decorations! The "My Girl" song that Heena walked down the aisle to, tears during the ceremony, the choir singing their hearts out, topped off by Heena's sister joining them to sing her and Heena's favourite "them" song. Brilliant. Photographing in the evening, just as the sun was setting, allowed us to create some magic. From nowhere, Nimesh whips out a 'To do list' created on one of their first dates and I got chance to witness them ticking off the last thing written on the list . . . To get married!

We don't need to ask if you had the best day ever, you'd planned for it, perfected it and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it . . .  absolutely so clear to see. You nailed it Mr & Mrs Chauhan. Thanks so much for having us there, we can’t wait for part two in July, your Indian ceremony, and the continued celebrations. xx

Hazel Gap Barn in Nottinghamshire wedding | Nicola & Matt http://sarahsalotti.co.uk/blog/2018/4/hazel-gap-barn-in-nottinghamshire-wedding-nicola-matt Our first time at Hazel Gap barn, the beautifully lit carefully restyled barn conversion in Nottinghamshire. When Nicola and Matt first booked us at the Save the Date wedding fair, the venue of their choice was was yet to be opened to the public! To finally see the grounds established and be there shooting a wedding was fab.

The day started for them both at hotels nearby, Nicola with her bridesmaid and bridesman and Matt with his best man and usher. A nice tight knit bridal party  around them whilst getting ready for the biggest day of their lives! The room where Nicola transformed into a stunning bride was fun and relaxed. Nicola looked amazing . . . in her Maggie Sottero blush laced sweetheart dress; finished off perfectly with a bright sunny spring flower bouquet. Matt meanwhile readied himself just down the road with an attentive groom’s party to hand with one or two calming toasts!

Guests arrived, followed by the Groom and then the Bride.  The dramatic light in the Ceremony room was wonderful to capture as Nicola walked down the aisle with her dad and then back through a pool of light arm in arm with her husband Matt. Having declared themselves husband and wife Nicola and Matt shared a splendid afternoon milling with their guests. We couldn't resist making the most of a few of the areas within the grounds and took Matt and Nicola off for some quiet time, well quietish as they were so full of beans with excitement. We think Nicola is one of the most excited brides we've photographed which was so lovely to see. Although it had been a pretty grey day we were just happy that the rain stayed away and couldn't believe it when we saw a tinge of orange peering through the tree line at sunset! After a fabulous meal the day slipped into evening and party time. The first dance quickly transformed in to a Ceilidh and before we knew it everybody was up having a go. Brilliant!

Nicola and Matt everything about your day was perfectly considered; we loved your colourful flowers by Mrs Umbels, choice of venue, cookie shelf by Yummy Little Cakes, "where on earth are you sitting?" table plan and your homemade crocheted "Nicola and Matt" <3.  Everybody made us feel so welcome and we particularly noted your love for life and each other! We wish you every bit of happiness together. xx

Staunton Harold in Derbyshire Wedding | Annie & Mitch http://sarahsalotti.co.uk/blog/2018/4/staunton-harold-in-derbyshire-wedding Annie and Mitch’s wedding took place at the impressive Staunton Harold in Derbyshire. Annie got ready at her Mum and Dad’s a short drive away while Mitch, family and friends had stayed over at the lodge set in the premises. So Easter weddings are planned in the hope of an early Spring burst . . . on the day we were all simply grateful that the rain that had been so persistent in the lead up had eased off to leave a dry if chilly day.

Annie’s house had a relaxed feel that stemmed from the Bride herself. Getting ready went very smoothly resulting in Annie looking dynamite in a gorgeous lace and embroidered dress, the most gorgeous blue shoes all finished off by her Mum’s veil, a lovely touch. Thanks also to the father of the bride for putting a screw in the door frame so we could hang his daughter's dress up exactly where we wanted it! Mitch’s preparations were a bit busier with a lot of family and friends around. He was pretty cool throughout the getting ready stage and we had plenty of time after we left the lodge to make the most of the beautiful Staunton Harold.

At the venue it was clear an Easter theme had been seamlessly woven in. The attention to detail throughout the day was spot on. The groom’s party distributed love heart eggs around the grounds for the egg hunt and daffodils were a plenty; double meaning here as Mitch and crew originate from Wales.  The day went really smoothly, Annie arrived in a sporty red Mercedes, Mitch got emotional on first seeing his beautiful bride and guests (too many to mention) provided a fab background throughout the day with readings, singing, music and lots of love of good fun. The speeches were hilarious and perfectly dangerous! The partying, including a short live set by Mitch, was pretty full on.

A beautiful couple surrounded by fantastic family and friends in a perfectly set venue. Thank you Annie and Mitch for letting us be part of your day, we wish you every bit of happiness in your future together. xx

The Old Stables in Swithland Wedding / Laura & Jamie http://sarahsalotti.co.uk/blog/2018/3/laura-jamie---married

Winter wedding at Narbourough Church, leicester and then a reception at The Old Stables, Swithland, LeicestershireWinter wedding at Narbourough Church, leicester and then a reception at The Old Stables, Swithland, Leicestershire

The Old Stables is part of the beautiful, boutique pub The Griffin in the village of Swithland in Leicestershire and is perfect for a cosy winter wedding. Laura & Jamie thought so too as they held their February wedding there. A wedding which took place on a very chilly, windy and slightly wet Saturday.

Four bridesmaids in stunning blue dresses were at hand to help Laura get ready with hair and make up provided by Katie at Hair by Attwood and Abbi at Beyond Basic . Laura's mum helped her to slip into a gorgeous Ella Rosa lace dress from Wedding Belles accessorised with a delicate jewelled belt. The final essential item of the day along with a hot water bottle were fur shrugs for the bridal party, invaluable in the cold! So on to the ceremony at All Saints Church in Narborough, we respected the vicars wishes and only photographed the service from the back but still managed to capture the essence of the service. Luckily we had the blessing to photograph Laura being walked half way down the aisle with her Dad followed by a handover to mum who linked arms and walked her the rest of the way to her awaiting husband to be. A very intensely emotional part of the day. Music is a big part of Laura and Jamie's life so it goes without saying that the music during the service involved a full big band conducted by Laura's mums partner.

Everyone then made their way to The Old Stables and guests headed inside for drinks and to shelter from the weather. We waited for Laura and Jamie to arrive in their gorgeous 1935 Ford V8 and were thankful that they braved the cold so we could get some portraits. Ever the chivalrous photographer, Marco gave his jacket to a shivering Laura who now perfectly modelled a blue alpine raincoat along with her stunning dress. This was followed by a confetti tunnel, some group pics, a walk along the road and then back inside to warm up in the comfort of The Old Stables. The low timber ceilinged room was lit up by a blanket of twinkling lights and Laura &  Jamie's wedding guests mingled whilst feasting on the most gorgeous canapés. Unfortunately for Laura the canapés were so delicious one of hers ended up on her beautiful dress; however, in true laid back style she laughed it off and just got on with enjoying her day. It wasn't long until dinner, speeches, and cake cutting. The dancing began with The Dirty Carpet band absolutely rocking it. I finished off this beautiful day with one of the biggest sparkler aisles I think I have witnessed - Sparkler madness!

A gorgeous day with a gorgeous couple, Laura and Jamie you were an absolute pleasure to spend the day with. With the weather being slightly against you and US, you were just brilliant. We wish you every bit of happiness in the future. xx

The City Rooms in Leicester Wedding / Fabienne & Thomas http://sarahsalotti.co.uk/blog/2018/2/fabienne-thomas---married We have truly kickstarted the season with style, our first wedding of 2018 at the beautiful City Rooms in Leicester city centre with the fabulous Fabienne & Thomas! Their big day took place on the last Saturday in January and by the looks of it everybody was ready for a party after the January lull. As always it was a pleasure to work at the City Rooms, the grandness of the ballroom lit by candelabras, the huge chandelier hanging in the entrance all set a perfect mood for a cosy winter wedding. When its raining outside and bitterly cold, there's nothing better than being warm indoors surrounded by twinkly lights and your favourite people. All this warm gorgeousness was such a contrast to what was going on outside, as the cold dampness bit hard on the city streets. But it was an opportunity that couldn't be missed to take the newlyweds for a wander down a cobbled alleyway backing on to the market.

What a fabulously crazy and fun wedding day Fabienne & Thomas had; it really made me smile putting together this selection of our favourite images. Watch out for seriously sparkly burgundy sequinned bridesmaids outfits and the cutest flower girl; their daughter Darcey who gave one of the best speeches I've heard. Then keep an eye out for the brides siblings taking part in the music action and the rings . . . don't forget the rings!!

And of course a big thanks to the other fab suppliers listed below:

Flowers + candelabras - Eve Lily

Brides dress - Suzanne Neville

Hair - George's

String Quartet - Vyne String Quartet

Band - The MP3's

The Waterfront, Market Harborough Wedding / Gemma + Craig http://sarahsalotti.co.uk/blog/2017/12/gemma-craig---married Gemma + Craig's big day in November had finally arrived.  We love it when couples stick to doing their wedding day their way and Gemma and Craig had certainly chose to do theirs exactly how they wanted to. Their wedding ceremony was at Market Harborough registry office – which very uniquely is attached to the town library. After an emotional ceremony, the congregation descended a beautiful wooden spiral staircase and out into the bustling streets of Market Harborough to congratulate the newlyweds. One of the main themes of their day was the unique transport, the couples adored Landrover that Craig had renovated. The wedding day was to be the first proper outing for it not only transporting Gemma to the registry office but driving the couple off as husband and wife to the reception. Of course we made the most of the opportunity to interrupt this journey and go on a little adventure. Finding a lovely bit of open land alongside a rustic disused barn building was just perfect for a few pictures of the two of them (plus Landrover!). Gemma looking stunning in a delicate lace dress, pinned back rolled hair and red lips. Freezing but smiling and laughing all the way through, Gemma looked the picture of happiness as her proud man cuddled her tight in the back of the Landrover.

Guests patiently waited outside the reception for the arrival of the Bride and Groom. The Waterfront is a beautiful little restaurant set on the edge of the canal, with barges moored up outside. As the place of their first date, you could see just how much Craig and Gemma loved it and the day proceeded with a warm, cosy and intimate energy. In the evening, the venue was transformed from a dining area to a dance floor effortlessly and with dusk upon us we went out for a stroll, some very fresh air and another opportunity for time out and pictures.

Together you two are beautiful and strong a brilliant couple that really compliment each other. It was truly an honour to be part of your special day. We wish you a lifetime of happiness! xx

Keythorpe Manor in Leicestershire Wedding / Bejal + Jaz http://sarahsalotti.co.uk/blog/2017/12/bejal-jaz---married A truly colourful wedding at one of my favourite wedding venues in Leicestershire, Keythorpe Manor. It never fails to provide beautiful backdrops whatever the season. Bejal & Jaz's wedding day was not only the coming together of two people but also of two religions Hindu and Muslim, naturally there were nerves but totally outweighed by the incredible amounts of joy. Bejal got ready in the little Bridal cottage snuggled in between the Barn where the ceremony was to take place and the marquee, their party space. Ideally not far to walk! Her outfit was a stunning mix of delicate golds with strong bold colours complimented by the flowers, sunflowers and pink roses. Even though this was quite a large indian wedding with lots of guests, to me it still felt like a calm and chilled out day. I'm assuming those vibes came from the newlyweds. Jaz and Bejal are so lovely together and very right for each other. It was great to take them away for cute portraits often dodging the rain, although for our last portrait of the day we embraced it; and boy was it worth it.

Love the fact that you feel like I've made you look like Bollywood stars!! Massively thankful to you beautiful humans for letting me into your lives and trusting me to photograph your story of your magical day!. Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness. xxxx

The West Mill in Derby Wedding / Kimmy & Chris http://sarahsalotti.co.uk/blog/2017/10/kimmy-chris---married I already knew Chris as a fellow wedding photographer and it was a great pleasure, huge honour and a little bit of extra pressure to be the person who was going to document his and his beautiful wife-to-be Kimmy's special day.

Their wedding on a wet Thursday in September was held at the spectacular West Mill in Derby. It had been a year since I last photographed there and it was so good to be back.  A very "on trend" venue with amazing interior proved to be the perfect backdrop for this rainy day. Chris, Kimmy and their guests were so well suited to this stylish urban environment feel .

I watched on as Kimmy, her daughter and her lovely gang of bridesmaids all got ready in the upstairs Bridal Room, amidst lots of laughter and a relaxed atmosphere. Kimmy only had a short walk literally through a door into the ceremony room and boy did she look stunning as she entered. Chris with his Best Man by his side looked every bit the other half of this cool couple. A chilled ceremony followed where the togetherness of both was clearly evident; their love for each other punctuated the whole day.

My first ever indoor confetti shot involved the most colourful confetti being enthusiastically thrown over the newlyweds. Eventually the  rain stopped allowing us to venture outdoors and it was great to have the contrast of these exterior shots.

Great chemistry set the atmosphere for your day, your guests and family were all a joy to be around, I had a fantastic time. Thank you for involving me in your day and for treating me as part guest, part photographer! Wishing you a lifetime of happiness xx

The Carriage Hall in Nottingham Wedding / Phillipa + Liam http://sarahsalotti.co.uk/blog/2017/10/phillipa-liam---married OMG what an awesome day we had with this pair and their fabulous guests. We have taken up all the blog space with pictures so don't have much space or need for words. To offer you a short summary; Phillipa and Liam set their wedding morning and ceremony in the picturesque Lace Market in the heart of the city they live in, Nottingham. Phillipa got herself ready at the Lace Market Hotel a stones throw away from the Church. With umbrellas at hand (just in case), Liam walked in from their home in The Park with his Dad and Brother to meet up with his guys in the Cock and Hoop next door to the hotel. Loved the contrast as the Groom walked through the city centre with everyone going about their business while he was heading for one of there biggest days of his life. Bride and Groom tied the knot in a lovely ceremony in this beautifully lit, seriously grand St Mary's Church and then jumped on a bus to The Carriage Hall in Plumtree. The most wonderful journey took us out of the city with the liveliest guests that suggested the party was going to really take off. The couple breezed through the mingling with style, warmth, love and laughter as they continued to make the most of their joyous day. The styling, the details, the way they both looked and the singing were all on point!  One of the happiest couples on their actual day I think we've ever seen.

So pleased you gorgeous people found us . . . your day was everything we expected it to be and more. Thank you so much. The Salotti's xx

Hogarths near Solihull Wedding / Tria + Jamie http://sarahsalotti.co.uk/blog/2017/9/tria-jamie---married Hats off to this couple, Tria and Jamie! They went where many couples wouldn't when planning for an outdoor wedding ceremony in the great British weather. Despite the heavy rain all morning, Tria still walked down a very long path to her awaiting husband to be. The venue was Hogarth's, near Solihull and the knot was tied in a beautiful ceremony set in a unique treehouse.

There is such a magical feeling about getting married under a canopy of green. It was our first time shooting a woodland wedding and we loved it. We could've stayed under the trees and near the lit up treehouse all day and night. Leaves rustling in the wind, and branches swaying overhead as they promised forever. We definitely made the most of this location and although the majority of the day took place back at the hotel we made lots of visits back to the treehouse at various points of the day.

Their perseverance with an outdoor ceremony I think paid off. It stayed dry throughout the service and just as they said "I do" the sunshine streamed through the trees. Well deserved we say! The ceremony was perfectly signed off with Tria's cousin standing up and delivering beautifully a rendition of Etta James song "At Last". Dodging some really heavy showers the newlyweds along with their guests went on to have a fantastic day, mingling, drinking, laughing, smiling and in the evening dancing their socks off to some bad boy beats!

Well done and massive congratulations Mr & Mrs Reynolds. You were brilliant to work with. It was one truly magical day and all down to the two of you!

xx

Leicestershire village wedding / Grace + Ashley http://sarahsalotti.co.uk/blog/2017/9/grace-ashley---married On an extremely beautiful Saturday at the beginning of September we had the pleasure of being involved in Grace & Ashley's wedding based around the tranquil Leicestershire village of Tugby. The service was held in the St Thomas a Becket Church on Main Street, a short walk from the Bride's family home where she got ready with her entourage of bridesmaids, bromaids and dogs. Grace was to emerge from this environment looking sleek, stylish and stunning. Ashley and his Groomsmen played a round of golf in the morning, returning to their hired country cottage in the next village to get ready. Listening to music and taking in the odd dram they were soon on their way to the Church. The Bridal party's walk to Church was so relaxed and the dogs, with their flower garlands and bow ties, particularly enjoyed this stroll. Some wedding ceremonies can be quite formal and sombre. Grace and Ashley had opted for non religious songs to be sung and chose a couple of really popular hits they assumed everyone would know. Eh wrong . . . . the Bride and Groom, Reverend, and congregation all broke into fits of laughter as beyond the chorus of 'All you need is love ' the singing dropped to a whisper only to pick up again when the chorus came round. Brilliant fun. Everyone took this in great spirit and after the service, the wedding throng walked back through the village with the new Mr and Mrs Perry.

The family home had been styled wonderfully by Eve Lily and the remainder of the event was set against this sophisticated country cottage background. Interesting textures and palettes are never far away in the countryside, and it was great to sneak off a short distance with the couple for the chance to do some portrait work. With us all back at the house, the loving and fun atmosphere continued with speeches that brought tears and laughter. As day melted into night the wedding shifted into party mode and the cottage transformed itself into a canvas of atmospheric lighting set against a beautiful darkening sky. Cue dancing, drinking and good times.

Two beautiful families, loads of gorgeous friends and a perfectly planned day. We always say that a truly fab wedding day comes down to a combination of styling, setting and people. On this occasion Grace & Ashley knocked it out the park and we were so lucky to be part of it!

Donnington Hall Derbyshire Wedding / Claire + Alexander http://sarahsalotti.co.uk/blog/2017/9/claire-alex---married Our second treat of a wedding over the August Bank Holiday was Claire + Alexander's big day at Donnington Hall. Like all weddings a lot of effort and planning went into the day but with them living miles away in the village of Hook, south of Reading and organising a wedding in Derbyshire, I know things were a bit more difficult. The day had arrived and there were smiles all round as the sun shone down. We were so happy for them both and the one thing we clearly could see about this day, was the joining together of two families.

It's not very often . . . like never, that you discover that the wedding venue used to be the Groom's ex place of work! Donington hall a beautiful stately house next to the Priest House in Castle Donington used to be home to BMI and at that time the groom along with his Dad worked there. Until that Sunday I didn't even realise this grand place even existed. I could definitely see why they had chosen it for their celebrations. Claire also works in the aviation industry so it was a no brainer to incorporate their love of flying into their details. Airplanes were everywhere . . . on the invites, the place names, the flowers . . . and being so close to East Midlands airport they flew over head all day.

The knot was tied in not one but two beautiful ceremonies in the old chapel part of the building. The first involved a blessing surrounded by family and friends. A couple of things we particularly loved was the godparents involvement with pouring colourful glass stones to combine them with a lasting memory and a last hug to each of their mums before they became husband and wife. Cue tears. If there was any tension or nerves in the room they were soon obliterated when the singing started! The second ceremony added registrars and sealed the civic side of the marriage. With white walls and sun streaming through the stained glass windows and the addition of a visit from a beautiful butterfly it was a photographer's dream.

Bride and groom mingled with their guests seamlessly before being whipped away in their open top Bentley for a tour round Castle Donnington, stopping for a few opportune photographs. Loved it. Back at the venue, and after dinner we climbed the spiral staircase to the rooftop of what felt like a Castle, an opportunity definitely not to be missed and so pleased that Alexander + Claire joined me.

Your day was full of colour in every way. You looked so happy enveloped in warm sunshine, surrounded by loving family and friends. Hope you had the best day ever. Wishing you a happy life together. xx
